You’ll find heat every 150 feet on the Winter Blast site, including both heated tents and warming stations in local buildings. The 2010 Winter Blast will be promoted by a stellar marketing campaign with local media partners providing significant publicity. More than 75,000 guests are expected to attend the 2010 festival. We hope you join us as we entertain thousands of local metro Detroiters celebrating winter in Detroit with fun events and attractions!
Motown Winter Blast was developed to create an innovative backdrop for Super Bowl XL. This signature wintertime festival debuted in January of 2005 to kick off the official countdown to Super Bowl XL in Detroit. This first time event attracted more than 200,000 people and featured a combination of hip and fun seasonal events that celebrated all things Detroit. The 2006 Motown Winter Blast was an even bigger hit, attracting nearly 1 million Metro-Detroiters and out-of-town guests during Super Bowl XL. The 2007, 2008 and 2009 Winter Blast continued to keep the spirit of Super Bowl XL alive in the city, and developed new programs designed to promote quality of life, economic impact, community service and just plain fun!
We would like to thank our sponsors, including DTE Energy, DEGC (Detroit Economic Growth Corporation), Michigan Lottery, Wayne County, Quicken Loans, Fifth Third Bank, Meijer, Charter One Bank, Comcast and our other sponsors and media partners for their tremendous support of the Winter Blast. We also thank the City of Detroit for promoting this positive experience for Detroit and our entire region.
