Registration has begun for The City of Detroit’s 3rd annual Heat the Streets 10K/5K Run. Detroit’s Winter Blast is proud to be a supporter of the contest, coordinated by the City of Detroit Department of Human Services and The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW). This year’s Heat the Streets Run is scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2007. Registration costs range from $10-25.

Heat the Streets is fun for people of all ages -- competitive or not. In addition to the 10K and 5K runs there is also the Meltdown 100M for children 12 and under. As a result of our partnership, participants in Heat the Streets will receive special Winter Blast goodies including a free ride on the snow slide.

The day kicks-off at 8:00 a.m. from in front of the Boll Family YMCA on Broadway and travels throughout downtown, including the Winter Blast site. The route is flat, fast and USATF certified.
